World Recipes - Cook World Gourmet 4+

I downloaded this app yesterday and I like it! Its got a great variety of fabulous recipes from 13 countries/regions; some are very easy while others are more challenging!! That being said, Today's Specials DID NOT change today so that needs to be fixed and for some reason the recipes under Today's Special ARE NOT saving to My Favorites so that too needs to be fixed. Also it would be great if recipes saved in Favorites did so in alphabetical order making it easier to find them later.

But its not all fix-ups, the photo that accompanies each recipe is clear and appetizing and ingredient measurements are listed in both metric AND imperial (SO HELPFUL). A few fixes as well as adding Nutritional Values (in each recipe) and this app will easily be one of the GREAT ones!!

This is a good app for looking at a variety of dishes and getting inspired. However, many of the recipes are not accurate with the picture or don’t provide full information. For example, the fries recipe under American food is not how American fries are traditionally cooked and won’t produce the result in the picture. For that result, the fries will need to be deep fried twice at different temperatures. The recipe says to simply coat the potatoes in oil and salt and bake them. Then the calamari recipe under Greek recipes tells you to stuff the whole squid with breadcrumbs and feta and grill it, which sounds tasty but won’t produce anything close to the fried calamari rings in the picture. There are MANY inconsistencies like this that show nobody is actually testing these recipes or giving accurate pictures. The Caribbean and African sections are sparse with the Caribbean mostly giving Jamaican recipes and the African giving Northern African recipes. This is a good app for getting ideas but if you are a beginner find the recipes from a tested site.

This is a really great app. Not only can you browse various genres of cooking recipes for free, but you can also use it offline as it doesn't require the internet and will appear instantly. What's more, the design is stylish and easy to understand, and you can use it even with older iPhones. I have installed this app on my iPhone 5 iOS6 and love it.
